Steven Kostanski and Jeremy Gillespie‘s The Void got a lot of love from horror fans upon release back in 2016, blending elements of Hellraiser and The Thing, specifically the gruesome practical effects. The film certainly struck a chord with gorehounds, many of whom, including myself, have been hoping for Kostanski and Gillespie to make a sequel. Though a follow-up may never happen, the duo do have ideas for one.
In a recent chat with ComicBook.com, Kostanski talked the possibility for The Void 2.
“Well, Jer and I have all sorts of ideas on what we could do with The Void, but it’s totally tethered to the producers and what they want to do. So, I feel like, at this time, the movie’s going to just enjoy its life as a one-off thing. I mean, anything is possible in the future, but I think, for now, we’re just going to leave it at that. As the one film.”
In the first film, "Shortly after delivering a patient to an understaffed hospital, a police officer experiences strange and violent occurrences seemingly linked to a group of mysterious hooded figures."
Kostanski's new film, Leprechaun Returns is now available digitally. Be sure to check it out!
