SYFY Has Cancelled 'Z Nation' After Five Seasons

Just one week before the Season 5 finale "Z Nation," we've learned that SYFY has cancelled the post-apocalyptic zombie series. So basically, the Season 5 finale will be the series finale.

“We were not renewed for a Season 6. We’re stopping at Season 5," said Asylum CEO/series executive producer David Michael Latt. "We’re very sad. We’re also really grateful [for] the opportunities that we had. This is not the end of anything. This is just the beginning of a lot of things. We had a great time. We had a great time with SYFY.”

It's worth noting that Netflix has picked up a prequel series, "Black Summer," which has an eight-episode order. The story concerns a mother searching for a daughter after the world collapses.

The "Z Nation" final episode, “The End of Everything,” will air Friday night, December 28th.
