Melody is a 10-minute short horror film about a young girl that must mature years beyond her own in order to care for her dying grandfather and tend to his desolate ranch. The team behind the short have launched a Seed and Spark campaign to held fund the costs of production.
"Living an isolated life on a desolate ranch, 14-year-old Melody’s world is unearthed when a group of chaos junkies wreaks havoc on everything she holds dear. Little do they know, Melody has her own dark past, and seeks revenge for what has been taken from her."
The film is being written and directed by Sarah Brill, who has worked on over thirty films and has directed four of her own. Her films have been accepted to a variety of festivals, including next month's Final Girls Berlin Film Fest, and she has garnered a number of awards for her work.
We wholeheartedly stand behind the rise of female driven horror and believe that it's a vastly important movement for the genre. The Ranger, Revenge, American Mary, and The Babadook are just a few shining examples of female directed horror films.
