As this year's battle between Earth's greatest titans looms closer, the latest issue of Total Film Magazine features a few news shots from Michael Dougherty‘s Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and GamesRadar has shared them today!
Above, you'll see a new shot of King Ghidorah, and below there's two new image, one featuring Godzilla and the other featuring a new look at Millie Bobby Brown and Vera Farmiga.
When speaking to the mag, Dougherty said, “You sort of have to embrace a more fantastical element when you bring in a giant moth, or a giant bird born out of a volcano. You try to keep it as grounded as you can, so that it feels real. But at the same time, you’re talking about very fantastical creatures.”
Godzilla: King of the Monsters takes place five years after the first film.
"The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance."
Directed by Michael Dougherty from a script by Zach Shields (Krampus, Trick 'r Treat), the film stars Vera Farmiga, Ken Watanabe, Sally Hawkins, Kyle Chandler, Millie Bobby Brown, Bradley Whitford, Thomas Middleditch, Charles Dance, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Aisha Hinds and Zhang Ziyi.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters will be released in 3D and 2D in select theaters and IMAX on May 31st.
