Oxygen is continuing to expand its true crime brand with a handful of new series and a number of development projects, THR reports today, including one titled "Florida Man" from Blumhouse Television.
"Oxygen is tremendously excited to work with some of the biggest names in the industry on such important projects," said Rod Aissa, executive vp original programming and development. "This year we’ve increased our original hours by more than 30 percent, and we’ll keep ramping up our programming efforts as more fans flock to the network to experience best-in-class content."
In "Florida Man," Blumhouse TV and Man vs. Robot will examine the most outrageous, notorious and craftiest killers from the Sunshine State.
The rather humorous official description reads, "When a crime sounds like it came straight from a Hollywood screenplay, there’s a good chance it was committed by a Florida Man."
Other true crime shows in development from Oxygen include "Truth & Justice: The West Memphis Three," "The Jane Doe Murders," "The DNA of Murder," "The Lover’s Lane Murders," "Exploited," and "Framed by the Killer."
