As we reported earlier this month, a third film in the franchise that began with The Collector and was followed by The Collection is finally in the works, ans we've now learned that it's officially been titled The Collected. Marcus Dunstan, who directed the first two films, will also direct The Collected. Dunstan and Patrick Melton co-wrote the screenplay.
"The Collected is going to triple down on the grit and suspense we had in the first Collector,” we’ve been told tonight.
Josh Stewart and Emma Fitzpatrick will both reprise their roles.
Stewart's Arkin was the only survivor of the Collector's sadistic onslaught in the first film, a maniacal killer who likes rigging up hellish traps to literally collect his victims, dead and alive. Stewart reprised his role in the sequel, teaming up with a group of mercenaries to take down the Collector. *Spoiler* The second film ended with Arkin collecting the Collector, and this new film will presumably pick up right after said conclusion.
This news comes just a few months after we learned that Dunstan and Melton are writing a screenplay for a new Final Destination movie.
David Brown (Clear Horizon Entertainment) and Brett Forbes (Rad All Day Productions) will produce. Filming will take place in Fall 2019.
