'Poltergeist III' And 'The Omen IV' Writer Brian Taggert Has Passed Away

We've learned the unfortunate news today that screenwriter Brian Taggert passed away in Los Angeles, California at the age of 81 earlier this month, the news was brought to our attention by The Wrap.

Early in his career, Taggert wrote multiple horror films including The Spell, Night Cries, Visiting Hours and Of Unknown Origin, and he stayed within the genre for the majority of his career. Taggert also wrote both Poltergeist III and Omen IV: The Awakening, and has a "story by" credit on Sean Cunningham’s The New Kids.

Taggerts other writing credits include 1986’s Wanted: Dead or Alive, which starred Rutger Hauer, the television remake of Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?, and 1997’s Stephen King adaptation, Trucks.

He also wrote episodes of the TV miniseries "V: The Final Battle" and "V" the series.
