We're a little less than two months away from the release of Andy Muschietti's IT: Chapter Two, one of the highest anticipated horror films in years. The sequel will reunite the Losers Club as adult in present day, returning to Derry to face Pennywise once again nearly 30 years later. Via Entertainment Weekly this week, we've got a few new images and info.
In the film, Mike (Isaiah Mustafa) is the only member of the club who hasn't moved away from Derry, and he brings the group back together to destroy Pennywise once and for all.
"I think that everything that people love from the first one, like the humor and the emotions and the horror, will all be there… and cranked up, in some cases," Muschietti told EW.
Reprising the role of Pennywise, Bill Skarsgård teased an even scarier sewer-dwelling clown this time around: "He’s scarier and he’s angrier. There’s a couple of very brutal things in the film."
The sequel also stars Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty, Mama) as Beverly, Bill Hader (HBO’s “Barry,” The Skeleton Twins) as Richie, Jay Ryan (TV’s “Mary Kills People”) as Ben, James Ransone (HBO’s “The Wire”) as Eddie, and Andy Bean (Starz’ “Power”) as Stanley.
Reprising their roles as the original kid members of the Losers Club are Jaeden Lieberher as Bill, Wyatt Oleff as Stanley, Sophia Lillis as Beverly, Finn Wolfhard as Richie, Jeremy Ray Taylor as Ben, Chosen Jacobs as Mike, and Jack Dylan Grazer as Eddie.
Pennywise will return in theaters and IMAX worldwide on September 6th, 2019.
