[Trailer] A Violinist Conjures The Antichrist In Rutger Hauer-Starring 'The Sonata'

After acquiring the film back in September, Screen Media has now debuted the trailer for The Sonata, a thriller that features one of the late Rutger Hauer’s final film roles. Watch it below!

In this chilling first feature from director Andrew Desmond, a young musical prodigy, Rose (Freya Tingley), learns that she has inherited the mansion inhabited by her recently deceased father (Hauer), a famous and reclusive composer from whom she was estranged. So she decamps to the sprawling old house alongside her protective manager (Simon Abkarian). There, she discovers among his belongings an unpublished score whose cryptic notations hint at sinister, possibly supernatural secrets—to which Rose herself might just hold the key.

The film was co-written by Desmond and Arthur Morin. James Faulkner, Catherine Schaub-Abkarian, and Matt Barber also star.

Screen Media will release The Sonata in theaters and On Demand on January 10th, 2020.
