The New Mutants director Josh Boone has teamed up with CBS All Access for an all new series adaptation of Stephen King's The Stand, and we now have a window of when we can expect it to premiere.

During the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour over the weekend, CBS revealed that "The Stand" is expected to arrive in fourth quarter 2020.

In the series, an apocalyptic vision of a world decimated by plague and embroiled in an elemental struggle between good and evil. The fate of mankind rests on the frail shoulders of the 108-year-old other Mother Abagail and a handful of survivors. Their worst nightmares are embodied in a man with a lethal smile and unspeakable powers: Randall Flagg, the Dark Man.

The cast includes Jovan Adepo, Alexander Skarsgård, Owen Teague, Brad William Henke, Daniel Sunjata, Whoopi Goldberg, James Marsden, Amber Heard, Odessa Young, Henry Zaga and Marilyn Manson.

"The Stand" is produced by CBS Television Studios. Boone and Ben Cavell will write and executive produce, with Boone also directing. Roy Lee, Jimmy Miller and Richard P. Rubinstein will also serve as executive producers with Will Weiske and Miri Yoon as co-executive producers. Knate Lee, Jill Killington and Owen King will serve as producers.

Stephen King also recently revealed that he has rewritten the ending for the series based on his 1978 novel, which was adapted as a television film by Mick Garris in 1994.
