After what seems like years and years of waiting, Francesca and Abrakadabra filmmakers Luciano and Nicolás Onetti's What the Waters Left Behind is finally getting a North American home video release this May, thanks to the fine folks at Unearthed Films!
Inspired by such classics as The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and The Hills Have Eyes, the film follows a group of young people that take a to the ruins of Epecuén, a town that was flooded on November 10th, 1985 and was deep underwater for over 30 years, in order to make a documentary.
Ignoring the warnings, and after a brief tour, they get stranded in the abandoned town. Contrary to what they thought, they begin to realize that they are really not alone. One by one they soon find that you don't have to go to Texas for a massacre.
Bonus features for the release include a "making of" featurette and a handful of Unearthed Films trailers.
Written by Carlos Goitia and the Onettis, What the Waters Left Behind stars Mirta Busnelli, Gustavo Garzon, Agustin Pardella, Victoria Maurette, Victorio D'Alessandro, Damian Dreizik, Paula Brasca, Paula Sartor, Chucho Fernandez, German Baudino, Evan Leed, and Tamara Garzon.
Find out What the Waters Left Behind when the film arrives on Blu-ray and DVD on May 12th, 2020 from Unearthed Films.
