Cannibal Corpse Announce 'Violence Unimagined,' Stream First Single "Inhumane Harvest"

The godfathers of death metal are ready to rip us apart once again, as this week, the announcement came of the band’s fifteenth studio album, titled Violence Unimagined. Considering this is the same band with tracks like “I Cum Blood” and “Fucked with a Knife,” I have a hard time believing there’s any violence these guys haven’t imagined, but I’m willing to be convinced otherwise.

For the first strike from this killer effort, we have “Inhumane Harvest,” an eviscerating track with technical brilliance and deadly brutality all wrapped into one. Blast beats permeate faster sections, while vocalist George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher employs what I still feel like is one of the best voices in the death metal game today. Around halfway through, things slow down with a punishing breakdown and some heavy riffing. If it’s been too long for you since their previous album Blood Runs Black, this song should remind you of who you’re dealing with, and why they’re still one of the best in extreme metal after all this time.

Says bassist and founding member Alex Webster on the album:

"It really follows the path we've been going down for a few years now. I think we approach the writing in a similar way most every time: each of us try to write the heaviest, most memorable songs we can. We want each song to have its own identifiable character. Showing my age, I like to say you can 'drop the needle' on any point of one of our albums and quickly tell which song you're listening to."

The pre-order formats for the record are numerous, and in no particular order, they include:
