CreatorVC have been a force in the pop culture documentary game, releasing two marathon installments of their Eighties horror retrospective In Search of Darkness within the last couple of years. The creators aren’t resting on their laurels, though doing so would be forgivable given just how much they’ve put out. They’re sticking with the Eighties for this next massive project, but they’re strapping the rocket and going to the moon.
In Search of Tomorrow is poised to be the definitive documentary on Eighties science-fiction. Even though the era of Pandemia has caused plenty of problems in production, which began two years ago, the crew has filmed over 60 hours of interviews and assorted footage. Last year, the documentary raised over $660,000 on Kickstarter, and now the CreatorVC crew has taken the project to Indiegogo, where it is InDemand with even more to offer.
They also enlisted 25 more actors and creators since last year’s Kickstarter, including Peter Weller (RoboCop), Jesse Ventura (Predator, Running Man), and Bruce Boxleitner (Tron, Babylon 5). They join a cast over 70 strong, with legends such as Paul Verhoeven (RoboCop), Sam J. Jones (Flash Gordon), Wil Wheaton (Star Trek: The Next Generation), John Carpenter (They Live, The Thing), Bob Gale (Back to the Future trilogy), Charles Band (Empire Pictures, Full Moon Features), and so many more.
The foot in the door, minimum investment is 30 GBP ($41 USD), and that Marty McFly package comes with a digital copy of the finished film, plus your name in the credits and access to the In Search of Tomorrow community Discord, which will host a number of events associated with the documentary. 60 GBP ($82 USD) scores backers a DVD (Kyle Reese) or Blu-Ray (Flash Gordon) copy, three posters, stickers, and access to the online virtual premiere. All perks for all tiers are set for a December 2021 delivery.
