Filmed at the infamous Clown Motel in Tonopah, Nevada, director Joseph Kelly's Clown Motel was a hit among the indie horror community and critics alike, garnering praise from some of the biggest horror outlets around the web, and we're pleased to report that a sequel is now in the works and funding on Kickstarter.
Titled Clown Motel: 2 Death Do Us Part, the sequel picks up six months after the events of the first film and is being billed as "IT meets Cabin in the Woods with a bloody splash of The Devil's Rejects and House of 1000 Corpses."
"The search for Brooke (Elinor Price) is in full swing, when Brooke's fiance Sergeant Kelly (Joseph Kelly) gets new Intel on her possible whereabouts. Gathering a group of 8 Military Sergeants and Specialists along with 4 new recruits, hope opens up for Kelly, as he leads a military squad on an all out mission to find his fiance.
But as they enter the Clown realm where not only Brooke, but also Jane Doe has been trapped for over thirty years, the military squad is in for one of the most nightmarish showdowns of their lives."
The film is set to star Ari Lehman (Friday the 13th), Tony Moran (Halloween), Eileen Dietz (The Exorcist), Ezra Buzzington (The Hills Have Eyes), Laurene Landon, Elissa Dowling, Julie Anne Prescott, Ron Russell and many other genre favorites.
The campaign is currently sitting at around 75% funded with a little over a week to go. There are some great perks up for grabs, from copies of the film, to producer credits and on-screen deaths. Head on over to the Kickstarter page to learn more and contribute!
