"The Bad Cookie Combo" Brings Horror Shorts 'Nepenthes' and 'The Devil and I' to YouTube This Week

The Devil and I

Fire up the popcorn machine because this Saturday, September 5th, emerging local production company, Bad Cookie Pictures is taking to YouTube to debut their unique double chiller horror experience, "The Bad Cookie Combo." The combo not only boasts two festival favorite horror shorts, but special trailers and segments featuring late night movie host, The Witch of Love herself, Morana. Expect madness, romance, monsters, and blood!

The first of the shorts featured is Nepenthes written and directed by Ariel Hansen, which has since screened in 25 festivals around the world, picking up awards and nominations such as the Best Short Film award at Cinemafantastique in Vancouver, BC. The film stars theatre actor Ariel Slack in her on-screen debut as the lonely Max and features scream queen Tristan Risk as the object of Max’s affection.

The second short to be featured is The Devil and I, written and directed by Topher Graham, which debuted at the Edmonton International Film festival in 2018. This Canadiana folk-horror piece features Jesse Inocalla, of The Dragon Prince fame, and Ariel Hansen, in the lead roles as well as James Kingstone in a supporting role.

"As cases amongst young adults are surging in BC and other parts of the world, we wanted to give everyone something unique and safe to do for the long weekend. Our Bad cookie Combo, which throws back to the late night tv horror movies of my childhood is the perfect creepy night in!," says Topher Graham of Bad Cookie.

"The Bad Cookie Combo," which was produced via an Indiegogo campaign that exceeded its goal and raised $5325, will be premiering for free on Bad Cookie YouTube channel with both filmmakers available for live chat Q&A during the initial premiere screening.
