"The community asked, and we're thrilled to answer that our partners at Sumo were able to create a plan to bring The Texas Chain Saw Massacre to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 platforms in a way that preserves the gameplay and visual tone of the title while giving players what they have been asking for," said Gun Interactive Executive Producer Ismael Vicens in a press release. "It was important to us to enable every fan of the franchise to experience our vision for the game."

"Since the reveal, one of the main questions we’ve received has been 'when will we see gameplay footage?' We’re fortunate to be able to celebrate this news alongside the gameplay our community has been anxious to see and bring them further details on when they can expect to get their hands on the game to experience it for themselves," said Daniel Nixon, Director of Communications at Gun Interactive. "We hope that fans are as excited for the Uncut Trailer of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre as we are to show it to them."

Set before the events of the original film, the Texas Chain Saw Massacre game follows Ana Flores and her friends from college, who are searching for Ana's missing sister. What they find is beyond their wildest nightmares.

In the game, players will take on the role of one of the notorious Slaughter family, or their victims, in a third-person asymmetrical horror experience based on the groundbreaking and iconic 1974 horror film. As a victim you must use your wits and stealth to stay out of the Family's reach to find the tools you need to lead to your eventual freedom. Slaughter family players must seek out, track down, and stop their guests from escaping.

The Friday the 13th game developers will once again be using the motion capture skills of Kane Hodder to portray Leatherface, and Ed Neal, known for his role as "The Hitchhiker" in the 1974 horror classic, will be voicing the character in the game. The voice cast also includes Scout Taylor-Compton (Rob Zombie’s Halloween), Kristina Klebe (Don’t Kill It), and Sean Whalen (The People Under the Stairs).

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre will be launching sometime in 2023 on Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store, and will be available through Game Pass on both Xbox consoles and PC.
