While some may associate beer with pro wrestling (thank you Sandman and Stone Cold), WWE have other ideas for alcoholic beverage pairings with WWE Network binge-watching sessions. The company has paired with Wines That Rock, a winemaker with over a decade and a half of experience connecting wines with various entertainment brands, to bring fans two limited edition blends. These have been branded with two of the WWE’s biggest characters, The Undertaker and The Ultimate Warrior.
With the help of Andrew Nelson, who was named one of Wine Enthusiast’s “40 Under 40” Tastemakers, these wines have been developed to reflect the larger than life personas of their subjects. The Undertaker wine is a 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon, with origins in Lodi, California. Aged in oak, the batch has been limited to a run of thirty barrels, with its bottles featuring glow-in-the-dark artwork and a dark purple wax dip. For The Ultimate Warrior’s wine, the blend is 80% Zinfandel and 20% Sangiovese, originating from Mendocino County, California. The wax dip is colored in bright neon, just as the Warrior’s signature facepaint and tassels were all those years ago.
Pre-orders for the wine are available now, with an anticipated shipping date of October 22nd. Those who order within the first two weeks of the pre-orders will be added to the priority list of WWE Wines, and will receive early notice on any upcoming releases from this collaboration. Each bottle comes individually numbered, with The Undertaker-branded wine featuring a numbering based on which barrel the bottle came from.
