[Trailer] 'Mortal Engines' Looks Like 'Mad Max' Meets 'Howl's Moving Castle'

The Peter Jackson-produced film Mortal Engines is, without a doubt, going to be a hit when it releases into theaters for the 2018 holiday season! In the trailer below, the city of London becomes a rolling death machine that roams the dystopian wasteland. In what looks to be a fantastic mash-up of Mad Max and Howl's Moving Castle!

 

Mortal Engines is set to release in US Theaters on December 14th, 2018. The film stars Hugo Weaving, Robert Sheehan, and Stephen Lang. Directed by Christian Rivers and produced by Peter Jackson. The film is based on the novel by Philip Reeve.

Official Synopsis: 

Thousands of years after civilization was destroyed by a cataclysmic event, humankind has adapted and a new way of living has evolved. Gigantic moving cities now roam the Earth, ruthlessly preying upon smaller traction towns. Tom Natsworthy (Robert Sheehan)—who hails from a Lower Tier of the great traction city of London—finds himself fighting for his own survival after he encounters the dangerous fugitive Hester Shaw (Hera Hilmar). Two opposites, whose paths should never have crossed, forge an unlikely alliance that is destined to change the course of the future.
