The 1980's Shot-On-VHS Cult Classic Makes it's DVD Debut!
In the summer of 1988 (and again in 1989) two brothers armed with a rented VHS camera from a video store set out to make their homage to their favorite slasher movies. The end result were two hilariously stupid, poorly lit and shot amateur shorts aptly titled THE VIOLENCE MOVIE and THE VIOLENCE MOVIE 2. For a while the shorts were copied and passed around on VHS tapes back in the late 1980's, eventually fading into obscurity. Thirty years later, when no one was asking to ever see them again, the brothers somehow convinced legendary Friday the 13th composer Harry Manfredini to re-score their ''masterpiece'' (yes, these shorts feature a BRAND NEW original score by Harry Manfredini created exclusively for this release) and even more shocking, convinced a distributor to legitimately release them on DVD in a special collector's edition packed with bonus features that maybe seven people will actually care about.
THE VIOLENCE MOVIE: When a deranged killer (David E. Wilkinson, ''Jersey Girl''… but as a lame extra in a scene with Ben Affleck… still counts!) escapes from prison, he inexplicably invades the home of Joey Hammond (Joseph Shaugnessy) who must fight for his life in order to stay alive.
THE VIOLENCE MOVIE 2: Was it real or was it a dream? For some unexplained reason Joey Hammond (Joseph Shaughnessy) returns in this action packed sequel. This time the crazed serial killer (David Wilkinson) is relentless in his pursuit of the innocent Joey with 2 times the action, 2 times the gore, 2 times the body count, and 2 times the fun (well, not really)! It's the sequel in which you will keep asking yourself, ''Why? ''
