Stephen King And Joe Hill Will Write Stories For Shudder's 'Creepshow' Series

October 9, 2018

Shudder recently greenlit a new "Creepshow" TV series with Greg Nicotero ("The Walking Dead") attached to direct, executive produce, and supervise the show’s creative elements. At New York Comic-Con, Nicotero released some very exciting details on the upcoming series.

Reported by Horror News Network, some big names have been added to the project. Stephen King, his son Joe, and Bubba Ho-Tep writer Joe R. Lansdale will all be contributing stories to the anthology series!

“Nicotero stressed that the tone of the series would shift from story-to-story, with some taking a lighthearted comedic approach and others taking a much more frightening path. He also stated that each story would be ‘As long as they need to be’ and that he did not feel any pressure to fit the stories into segments of equal length.”

“Nicotero also revealed that the current plan is to produce digital comics based on each episode, as a potential perk for Shudder subscribers. He also hopes that they are collected into actual comics, which he believes is still the proper way to read comics.”

The original Creepshow was an iconic anthology film that featured stories written by Stephen King and directed by George A. Romero, with stars like Ted Danson and Adrienne Barbeau. It’s an enduring favorite among horror fans that spawned two sequel films and a spin-off comic.
