Back in 2015, one of my personal favorite films of all time was unleashed upon the cinematic world with Jason Lei Howden's, heavy metal horror-comedy Deathgasm, a film that's loaded with gory practical effects and taps into the spirit of Peter Jackson’s early works (Bad Taste, Dead Alive). I've been begging for a sequel for years now, and Screen Daily reports today that a follow-up is indeed happening!
Yeah, saying I'm excited would be a massive understatement!
UK’s Grimmfest is launching a production company titled Grimmfest Films, the site reports, dedicated to “developing, producing and part-financing feature films and streaming content from filmmakers who have premiered work in the festival.”
One of the first projects on the slate is Deathgasm (Heavy Metal Apocalypse) Part 2!
We have no further details at this time, but holy hell, I cannot wait to hear more on this project!
In related news, This year’s Grimmfest runs from October 3rd to 6th.
