"Creepy Co. and Music Box come together to bring you the unheralded 1979 classic, Tourist Trap. On the surface it appears to be just another teens-lost-in-the-woods slasher flick, but as the story unfolds you realize it's truly more than the sum of its parts. Chuck Connors' performance as the suspiciously welcoming proprietor of Slausen's Lost Oasis (the titular tourist trap) immediately gets under your skin, while Pino Donaggio's score repeatedly makes that skin crawl. Presented on 35mm for the first time in many moons! And if the film itself isn't enough to excite you, we'll be bringing some EXCLUSIVE giveaways and creating a Lost Oasis take-over! Here’s what to expect:
35MM screening of Tourist Trap, starting promptly at Midnight!
Slausen's Lost Oasis will be taking over the lobby for a fun photo op
Plus some EXCLUSIVE giveaways and free, commemorative goodies!
Creepy Co. is honored to be partnering with the Music Box Theatre, currently celebrating its 90th anniversary as Chicago’s premiere year-round film festival. As one of the very few theaters in the U.S. still playing actual film, the Music Box has cemented its landmark status in the cultural landscape, not just locally, but on an international level. This weekend’s screening event is the first of many Creepy Co. - Music Box collabs, so keep an eye on our blog for updates! See you at the movies!"
