This week, during the 52nd Festival of Sitges, a teaser for the new version of popular '80s Argentine suspense series "The Black Octopus" ("El Pulpo Negro"), was released.
Watch it below!
In the series, a man extorts several people so that they kill other people and leave the figure of a black octopus beside each cadaver.
The revival comes from Nicolás and Luciano Onetti, the brothers behind the Giallo throwback trilogy that includes Sonno Profondo, Francesca and Abrakadabra, as well as What The Waters Left Behind.
The script was written by Luis Murillo, the original author of "The Black Octopus", together with his son Luis Murillo Arias (screenwriter of "El Internado") and the argentinian Hernán Moyano, and produced by 16: 9 Cinema and Black Mandala. The revival will maintain the spirit of the legendary series of the '80s adjusting it into a modern version for the current times.
Miguel Ángel Solá stars in the series, who in his off narration performs the legendary character Héctor de Rodas.Gustavo Pardi (The Marginal) and María Eugenia Rigón (Abrakadabra) also star.
The project is a co-production between Argentina, Spain and New Zealand and will be a feature film and a TV series.
