'Dream Warriors' Cinematographer Re-Shot 'Elm Street 3' Scene With iPhone 11 Pro [Video]

November 4, 2019

How far has technology come in 30 years? In the hands of a cinematography legend, can a new iPhone 11 Pro compare to a film camera? Well, A Nightmare on Elm Street: Dream Warriors cinematographer Roy H. Wagner answers both questions in a new video wherein he puts the iPhone 11 Pro to the ultimate test.

Wagner and his crew used the phone to re-create a chilling scene from the 1987 Elm Street sequel, which was originally shot in 35mm. The results are actually quite surprising!

Shot entirely on the iPhone 11 Pro using the FiLMiC Pro App, Wagner, Shane Kelly and an all-star crew were directed by Lukas Colombo. The remake sequence was edited in DaVinci Resolve.

Check out the side-by-side comparison below, along with a behind-the-scenes featurette.
